The Dallas DuBose Memorial Fund (DDMF) of the Brain Tumor Foundation for Children was established in 2010 to honor the life and memory of a courageous young man, Dallas DuBose, who fought brain tumor disease with courage and dignity for close to three years. This special fund raises money to offer direct financial relief to families treated at the University of Florida’s Pediatric Brain Tumor Program at Shands (where Dallas was treated). The fund covers the cost of household bills, travel expenses, funeral costs and more to families fighting this deadly disease. The DDMF allows the DuBose Family to give back to those who gave so generously to them, and to alleviate some of the stress associated with caring for a child with such a serious illness.
In 2010, the family and friends of Dallas raised close to 12,000 through their participation in a run/walk in Washington, DC. As the fundraising efforts are continued in 2011, the DDMF will host the First Annual Dally Rally, a concert at Krewe de Gras on April 2nd in Tallahassee, FL.
