Dancing on the Sand

This is a guest post by Vicky Adams, mother of 3-year old Ella Adams.

We are so proud to say that Ella’s last scan, performed about a month ago, was CLEAR! We could not be happier.  This gift goes beyond measure – a while longer with this precious little girl that God has entrusted us with. Ella was so brave during her last scan – she did not cry once!

She receives regularly scheduled scans and they have always been very hard on her emotionally. For each scan, we have to go back to the hospital and she has to get IV’s.  She’s always scared and worried. We were absolutely stunned and surprised that this scan went so well. She was a brave soul and didn’t cry (besides a little trembling chin) when they gave her the IV. Induced sleep was peaceful and the recovery from the anesthesia was reduced because of her awesome attitude.

The name she earned in the hospital at the time of her brain tumor resection still holds true today – Ella is a Little Warrior Princess!!

This summer we were fortunate enough to be able to attend a special retreat that gave Ella the opportunity to see the ocean for the first time. I think this snapshot says it all – Ella was so happy and carefree, dancing on the sand! It was an incredible time and gave our family the opportunity to reconnect, which was long overdue since Ella’s hospitalization.
