Butterfly Fund Provided Hotel Room for Family

This post is part of a series of testimonials from families who have benefited from BTFC’s Butterfly Fund, which generously assists families in financial crisis as a result of a child’s diagnosis of a brain or spinal cord tumor.  The Butterfly Fund meets immediate, specific needs for families so that they can concentrate on caring for their child.  This post was guest written by six-year-old Savanna Pughsley’s mother, Brittany.

Savanna’s surgery left her unable to walk and our family needed a place to stay during her radiation treatments.  The hospital social worker said that the BTFC could help because they provided money for desperate situations like ours.  We were THRILLED!  We could now forget these worries and get back to concentrating on the battle for life that lay ahead.  We received a wonderful tote full of valuable information from BTFC and they paid for a hotel room, right across from the hospital, for the entire six weeks of radiation treatment!  We will be forever grateful to BTFC for helping us during the hardest time that we have ever been through.  We love BTFC!
